Shabbir Hassanali Partner

Shabbir has over a decade of experience providing cross-functional services to clients, including risk assurance, IT advisory, and compliance assessments such as HITRUST and SOX for organizations in various sectors.

Shabbir leads risk management and third-party compliance services consisting of readiness assessments, gap analysis, documentation of process narratives, testing and remediation of business and IT controls, and preparation and issuance of compliance and attestation reports.

Shabbir also has substantial experience in advisory services, such as developing and executing financial and IT risk assessments, and assessing IT general, application and cybersecurity processes and controls to determine if they were suitably designed and operating effectively relative to the clients’ size, complexity and risk appetite.

Prior to joining Mazars, Shabbir previously worked at a Big Four firm.

Shabbir was recently awarded the 2021 AICPA Standing Ovation Award for his extensive involvement in Information Technology Assurance.
