Robert Busuulwa

Robert Busuulwa is the founder and Managing Partner of Mazars Uganda.

Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (‘ICAEW’) in 1999 and being an ICAEW member since 2001, Robert has over 23 years of experience in public auditing and practice. He is also a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (‘ICPAU’) and Rwanda (‘ICPAR’).

Robert spent close to 20 years in England where he lived and worked as an auditor, accountant and financial analyst. He was an audit senior with Smith & Williamson Group (a top 8 audit firm in England) and later as a financial analyst with Mellon Financial Corporation, now Mellon Bank of New York.

Robert has been an audit and tax partner since 2009. He has led engagements in various industries including telecommunications, agriculture, plastics, hotel and tourism in the tax and audit or advisory roles.

In addition, Robert has served as Chairman Audit, Risk and Finance Committees on various boards for example Uganda Health Marketing Group Ltd (UHMG), Mango Tree Educational Enterprises, FSD Uganda and was once Chairman of the Board for Uganda Tree Resources (UTRL).
