Rene Koellen Partner

René is an economist and Chartered Certified Accountant and an expert in merger control and state aid commitments. He specialises in monitoring trustee services on behalf of competition authorities in Europe, North and South America, and other regulators around the world and works with global companies. René has extensive experience working with competition authorities in Latin America, e.g., COFECE, IFT (both Mexico), FNE (Chile), SCPM (Ecuador), SIC (Colombia), and CADE (Brazil), but also with SAMR in China. He has significant experience in M&A processes and divestment commitments as well as behavioural commitments. Before focusing on monitoring trustee assignments, René performed financial due diligence for sell-side and buy-side projects and valuations on behalf of international strategic as well as financial investors.

René is a German native speaker and speaks fluent English and Spanish. He is based in Dusseldorf and London.
