Dan Mellows Partner - Head of UK Insurance Internal Audit

Dan has 15 years’ experience of providing consulting and assurance services, with specific focus on (re)insurers, including general, Lloyd’s, life, mutuals and brokers in areas of governance, risk and internal control. As well as leading Mazars UK’s insurance internal audit practice, Dan leads our Global Governance Community, developing and aligning our service offerings internationally.  

Dan is an ACA and fulfils all aspects of the relationship and engagement lead role, including regular liaison with, and presentation to, C-suite executives, non-executives, boards and committees. As part of his role, he designs, delivers and reports on board effectiveness reviews, internal audit plans and risk assurance for his clients. He has also led and delivered numerous ad hoc engagements in areas of governance, risk and control. These have included regulator-commissioned board effectiveness and governance reviews (including Section 166), external quality assessments (EQAs) and reviews of third party service providers. 

Dan has also facilitated the implementation of enterprise risk management frameworks and was central to the design and implementation of a public interest reinsurer’s internal audit framework.
