Dan Breger

Dan joined Mazars in 2021 to lead the Business Resilience Services within the Management Consulting practice. He spent the last decade in two of the Big Four firms, where he was integral to the development and leadership of their Corporate Security Consulting practices. He specialises in Business Continuity, Crisis Management and Corporate Security strategy and policy build, training, exercising and testing. Through a mixture of Internal Audit and Assurance; ISO standards implementation and compliance; Target Operating Model development; Value Engineering and Process Optimisation, Dan helps organisations to understand their enterprise-level risk exposure and development strategies to manage their risks and operate responsibly in these volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous times.

He has introduced bespoke frameworks for managing Enterprise Risk environments (leveraging the three lines of defence governance framework) alongside technology solutions to a) enable multi-geography physical security audits/ assurance to be conducted consistently, b) gain a dynamic view of global supply chain and mobility risk exposure, considering geopolitical, business and personal risks, with early warning of concentration risks, and c) facilitate gold and silver crisis management teams to respond remotely through the development and implementation of cloud-based crisis management capabilities.

Dan has supported clients across the UK, North America, Mainland Europe and Asia Pacific in the Public Sector, Financial Services, Energy & Utilities, Aerospace, TMT, Pharmaceuticals, FMCG and Higher Education.

In 2011 Dan was seconded to the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (LOCOG) to deliver the circa £23m Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) design and build project, engaging with Police, Local Authorities, Transport for London, Government and Security Services (for venues including Old Trafford, Wimbledon and Lords Cricket Ground), based on a theatre-wide Concept of Operations and Comparative Risk Assessment Methodology (CRAMs).

Prior to working in a consulting capacity, Dan was the UK/I Emergency Planning and Security Strategy lead for a multinational Professional Services firm.

Dan completed an MBA (Technology Management) with the Open University where he has held several Associate Lecturer roles since 2017. He has A master’s degree in Biometrics (MSc), is a Chartered Engineer (CEng), CISSP (ISC2), Certified by the Business Continuity Institute, ISO Lead Auditor (ISO 27001:2013 and ISO 9001: 2015) and is lean six sigma black belt trained.
