Michael Newton Managing Director

Michael is the Managing Director of Mazars office in Bermuda.  He has over 15 years’ experience providing audit, accounting and advisory services to local and international clients operating throughout Europe, the United States of America, Bermuda, and the Caribbean.

Michael’s extensive experience and current portfolio of clients includes (re)insurers in the life and non-life (re)insurance industry, mutual insurance companies, segregated accounts companies, including a leading group operating in the ILS market, reinsurance intermediaries, brokerage companies, and clients in run-off.  Michael has an in-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, US, UK, and Canadian GAAP, together with US and Bermuda Statutory reporting frameworks in the insurance industry.

Michael is a member of Council of CPA Bermuda, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, and a member in good standing of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  He holds a Masters Degree in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford, and is an active member of the Bermuda business community, and serves as treasurer to a local charitable organization.
