Hong Kong Corporate Governance Seminar, November 2015
On 30 November 2015, Mazars Hong Kong hosted a 3-hour Corporate Governance Seminar at the Exchange Auditorium in Central, Hong Kong. The event was co-organized with SINOPEC Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd. and supported by the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association, Chinese Securities Association of Hong Kong, the Chamber of Hong Kong Listed Companies and the Hong Kong Institute of Directors.
Over 200 participants attended the seminar, including Directors, CFOs, Board and Company Secretaries, Investor Relations Managers, Internal Audit Executives, Senior Executives from listed companies and sponsors from investment banks.
A representative from Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited presented a welcome address at the beginning of the seminar. James Ye, practicing director of Business Risk Services at Mazars Hong Kong, delivered a presentation specific to Hong Kong listed companies on the amendments to the Risk Management and Internal Control section of the Corporate Governance Code and Corporate Governance Report of the Listing Rules to be effective for the accounting period on or after 1 January 2016. The seminar also invited a Director, Executive Vice President, and Investor Relations Manager of listed companies, in addition to two Managing Directors from investment banks acting as sponsors, to share their experience in corporate governance, risk management, and internal control.
