Upstream

Supporting operations of one of the six “supermajor" oil companies in the world

For almost 2 years, Mazars assisted one of the major multinational integrated oil and gas companies in producing information for the management team. Most notably, we assisted in establishing monthly financial reporting, executing the annual budget and long-term action planning. Additionally, we helped them in developing internal procedures. In Europe and South America, Mazars also performed several due diligence engagements for securing their operations.

Statutory auditor of CGG group and certification of its anti-corruption program

CGG is a French-based geophysical services and equipment company, primarily involved in oil exploration. Mazars has been the statutory auditor of the group since 2003 with a scope of countries based in Europe, Asia, North America and South America.Over the last three years, the group has carried out a campaign to strengthen anti-corruption efforts. In 2013, to obtain formal recognition of the significant progress made on this field, Mazars and ADIT was called up to audit and certify its Anti-Corruption Program.  The Mazars-ADIT Anti-Corruption Certification framework is approved and recognized by international independent experts and authorities and by the French Central Corruption Prevention Department (SCPC), an inter-ministerial department attached to the French Ministry of Justice.

Oil cost audit assignment for the Government of the Republic of Niger 

In 2011, the Republic of Niger became an official oil producer with the opening of the country's first refinery in Zinder. Mazars has been appointed independent auditor by the Government of the Republic of Niger to perform a cost oil audit assignment in order to verify compliance with production sharing agreements defined in accordance with a private operator. Mazars was also mandated to assess and perform IT system and procedures control.

Midstream

Supporting on a daily basis the operations of a major provider of tubing solutions

Our client is an international company, well-known in the Oil & Gas industry as a major provider for tubing solutions used in exploration and production, the transport of hydrocarbons services, and tubes for refineries. 

Mazars was mandated to conduct several due diligences assignments for the group to secure their acquisition processes notably in China & in Russia. Our team provides also accounting & outsourcing services to support their subsidiaries in China, & Russia and Korea. Our experts have been also involved in strengthening their internal control processes.

Downstream

Anti-trust assignment for Eni group

Eni is an oil & gas group operating in 79 countries. Following a decision by the European Commission, Eni was required to appoint an independent monitoring trustee to supervise the fulfilmentof its divestment commitments in relation to the three natural gas transmission pipelines in Europe. Mazars acted as the EC’s Monitoring Trustee in order to supervise the disposal process and preserve the market value of the Divestment Businesses. The ability to effectively coordinate the disposal process with the requirements of the Anti-trust Authorities demonstrated Mazars’ leadership in accomplishing Anti-trust assignments

Statutory auditor of Rubis

Rubis is a France-based international company specialized in the storage, distribution and sale of petroleum, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), food and chemical products. The company's business are carried on by a number of subsidiaries, including Coparef, Rubis Terminal, Vitogaz, Kelsey Gas Ltd, Lasfargaz, La Collette Terminal, among others. Mazars has been the statutory auditor of this group. Our team provided also some due diligence services to secure their external growth transactions.

Providing business expertise and technical support to Vivo energy

Morocco Vivo Energy is responsible for the marketing and distribution of fuels and lubricants to the Shell brand. With 330 stations present nationally, Morocco Vivo Energy serves over 36 million customers annually. Our local team in Morocco has supported the local subsidiary of the energy giant with regards to accounting, tax and legal services.

Cost oil audit

Niger has a long history of petroleum exploration dating back to the 1970's. In 2011, the petroleum industry of Niger was officially recognized with the opening of the country's first refinery in Zinder. Since 2012, exploration has intensified with production-sharing contracts signed with international firms. The Government of the Republic of Niger mandated Mazars to perform a cost oil audit in order to verify compliance with the Petroleum Code of the Republic of Niger, the Joint Operating Agreement and the Production Sharing Agreements defined with one of its private operator.
