In October 2014, the EU adopted a directive requiring large companies to disclose non‑financial information, including human rights performance, by 2017. However, if reporting is to be meaningful, new and improved corporate behaviour will be needed.
The UN Guiding Principles Reporting Framework is the first comprehensive guidance for companies to report on how they meet their responsibility to respect human rights in line with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
The Reporting Framework consists of two documents: the Reporting Framework itself and an Implementation Guide to help companies use the Framework.
Mazars and Shift are proud to welcome John Ruggie; Jo Swinson, MP, UK Minister for Employment Relations and Consumer Affairs; and Marcela Manubens, Global Vice President for Social Impact, Unilever, to share their perspectives on Human Rights reporting. The debate will be moderated by Richard Howitt, MEP and European Parliament Rapporteur on Corporate Social Responsibility.
