Mazars, the international audit, tax and advisory firm is pleased to welcome a new forensics team in Germany, supplementing its existing forensic and investigation services department.

Commenting on the firm’s enhanced team and capabilities, Firas Abou Merhi, Global Head of Financial Advisory at Mazars says: “I am delighted to welcome this new team to our international partnership. With increased regulation and a greater focus on compliance, investigations into areas such as fraud, anti-bribery and corruption, and other financial crime are rising. Having additional expertise in the field of forensic and investigation services adds value for both our national and international clients.”

The new team of six is led by Sandra Häberli, an expert with proven experience in the field in the fight against white-collar crime.

Mazars’ global network of dedicated specialists offer a truly international service using cutting-edge data analytics tools and algorithms to provide data mining and forensic analysis services in connection with complex investigations and dispute resolution assignments.

Our global forensics teams regularly advise national and international corporations and law firms, supporting clients in investigating potential breaches of duty, preventing damage to companies and minimising risks for future misconduct. Through special forensic investigations, experts clarify suspicious cases, identify evidence that can be used in court and provide clients with decision-making tools for adequate follow-up measures.

In addition, Mazars supports companies with follow-up enquiries resulting from the investigation, such as measures under labour law, the enforcement of claims for damages and recourse or the avoidance of criminal tax proceedings. From a preventive perspective, the team advises companies on how to optimise their individual compliance systems and security measures.
