I found it really useful how clearly structured the Reshape Programme was. It was broken down into three clear stages and each stage involved a two-way conversation with myself and Mazars. What we found really useful was the fresh perspective on opportunities that arose in conversations which an action plan was then built around. It was impressive how this went beyond financial input, to areas such as pivoting our operating model and food processing.

How the Reshape programme helped keep the doors open at a UK restaurant
Operating in the hospitality sector, one of the worst affected sectors by the Covid-19 pandemic, our restaurant client was facing a lot of uncertainty and financial challenges. The owner of the business was concerned how they would meet financial obligations, retain staff, adapt their model at the speed necessary to continue operations and whether they'd even be able to remain in business for the medium/long term.
We held in-depth workshops with our client to assess the current situation, identify the core priorities of the shareholders and complete thorough scenario analysis, which made it apparent that the business had the strength to survive the effects of the crisis.
We began to prioritise the key objectives that would both satisfy the aims of the shareholders and generate the most favourable financial outcome during the crisis period. This involved developing an integrated financial forecast and action plan that supported the change in the operating model required (i.e. takeaway services and dark kitchens), a new marketing and sales channel strategy and the rigorous management of monthly cash flows.
Having completed the Reshape programme, the client was provided with the following:
- An action plan with breakthrough objectives identified to support the revised operating model. This includes ongoing execution and monitoring support from the Mazars team.
- A detailed integrated financial forecast for 18-24 months across profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow.
- A comprehensive information pack for relevant third parties (to assist with accessing the relevant government supports and other finance) inclusive of pre-crisis track record and future forecasts.
