The Mazariades

Every year since 1989 the Mazariades have brought together Mazars' most sporting staff in one of the international partnership countries. Here is the feedback from the 2006 event, which took place in Seville.

Organised by the London office, the chosen venue of the 2006 Mazariades for the weekend of the 22-24 September was the south of Spain. A record number of over 1,100 athletes from 22 countries came head to head in friendly competitions in football, volleyball, tennis and golf.

In football the Luton team (UK) beat the Netherlands to gain victory once again, building on their previous success in Berlin in 2005. Congratulations also to the London 2 team, who won the fair-play prize.

The women's volleyball was dominated by the Czech Republic, followed by Poland.

Paul Armel Junne (France) showed himself to be the best on the golf course. He came ahead of Julien Durand and George Clayson, representing the United Kingdom.

Finally in tennis, Louis Dieperink of the Netherlands renewed his 2005 success by beating Jérôme de Giacomoni (France) in the final. In the women's tennis Sandrine Tortosa (France) won the title, beating Mafalda Pedro of Portugal.
