The 2006 deal of the year award went to the Arcelor-Mittal deal. Citigroup, Crédit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, and Société Générale advised on this deal.
The award for the best mergers & acquisitions deal was awarded jointly to two nominees: BNP Paribas for its acquisition of BNL and Compagnie Générale de Géophysique for the acquisition of Veritas. These transactions were presented by BNP Paribas and Crédit Suisse respectively.
The best IPO award went to Neuf Cegetel. This deal was presented by Crédit Suisse, Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan.
Frank Dangeard, Chairman of the “Club des Trente”, and Jean-Hervé Lorenzi, Chairman of the “Cercle des Economistes”, which was associated this year to the event, led a group discussion in front of guests and Sciences Po Paris’ students on the following topics:
- The private equity, 2007 main actors ?
- French companies, at the heart of global restructuring?
