In the UK, Charles Neville Russell founded the insurance company Neville Russell.
In the Netherlands, Jan Paardekooper laid the foundations for Paardekooper & Hoffman. The firm worked with big clients involved in Rotterdam's maritime and harbour businesses.
In France, Robert Mazars founded Mazars in Rouen. After the war, he became president of the Comité Permanent des Diligences Normales du Conseil Supérieur de l'Ordre des Experts, a committee of the French Institute of Chartered Accountants which is responsible for bringing together the views of different players involved in accounting. He held the post for 25 years. He gave his name to our organisation.
Creation of the auditing and accounting firm Mazars & Guérard through the merger of Robert Mazars and Guérard Viala.
The merger was made easier by the complementary nature of the two firms' independent-minded strategies. Their client bases and international operations are also mutually beneficent.
Development of an international partnership across 25 countries and a network of affiliated firms in 12 countries.
Mazars & Associés, the legal and tax division of Mazars & Guérard, merged with Turquin, Vernet, Merle Petit & Associés, a business law firm in Lyon specialising in employment law. Following this merger, the firm's multi-disciplinary strategy was extended to three areas: tax, business law, and employment law.

Mazars & Guérard strengthens its presence in Spain and Ireland by merging with MTR (Spain) and Chapman Flood (Ireland).
Mazars & Guérard UK forms an alliance with Neville Russell, one of Britain's leading independent firms.
The Group's name becomes Mazars

Development of the Mazars Group in Argentina, the United Arab Emirates, the USA, Tunisia and Turkey, as well as in Chile, India and Venezuela.
Paardekooper & Hoffman, the seventh-ranked auditing and consulting firm in the Netherlands joins the Mazars Group with 21 offices and a workforce of 770.
In the USA, Mazars creates a close partnership by signing two agreements with MR Weiser & Co in New-York and Moss Adams on the west coast.
Development of the Mazars' organisation in Saudi Arabia and Cuba
Mazars and Moores Rowland merge their Hong-Kong offices.
Development of the Mazars' organisation in the Sultanate of Oman.
Mazars and Magellan have chosen to operate separately in France. This allows the professionals at Mazars and the lawyers at Magellan to provide all client services without any legal or regulatory restrictions.
Mazars' worldwide expansion continues apace. Firstly in Egypt, where it has signed a correspondence partnership agreement with Nabil Joseph Abdel Messih & Co; secondly in the US, where Mazars is strengthening its partnerships by forming new links with big regional players; and lastly in Ireland, where Mazars has established a relationship with the Galway-based firm Jim Tierney & Co.
