Mazars is helping to build a strong financial Europe in which accounting standards, financial tools and regulations will be standardised.

Mazars has a presence in all European countries. Europe is characterised by the diversity and wealth of its cultures and thus deserves players that are able to cope with its specific requirements. Our ability to bring together a diverse range of European talents is a key advantage in our business.

Key stages in our European strategy have included:

• The integration of Neville Russell in the UK in 1997 and the creation of Mazars Neville Russell, which took the name of Mazars in 2002. There are currently 1,000 employees in the UK and turnover is around €100m, half of which is generated by statutory audit mandates. This puts Mazars in ninth place on its market. Moreover, Mazars has been chosen along with five other local organisations to work for the Audit Commission.
  
  
• The integration of Paardekooper Hoffman in the Netherlands in 2000, with nearly 800 employees working to serve our clients. Mazars ranks sixth on the audit market in this country and generates more than 15% of the organisation's total turnover.
  
  

Our European network also comprises other major markets such as Spain and Italy where Mazars ranks fifth.

In Germany and in Central Europe, notably Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary, Mazars is a well-known player, particularly on the segment covering international clients of European origin.

In all these countries, our units rank among the top ten market players.
